101 things to do
by admin on May.15, 2009, under 101 goals, Self improvement
I was exploring Twitterholic recently to see if I (@tunacrust) could boost my ego by seeing how well I ranked amongst other Twitter users in Melbourne. Their site is a little behind in it’s stats so based on their latest data at the time I’m ranked 87th (by number of people following me) of all the people who use Twitter and have their location set to Melbourne. A rank of 87th doesn’t do a great deal to massage the ego so I started manipulating the results until I found one I liked. That’s what stats are for. I sorted the list by ‘Joined Date’ and presto, I’m ranked 26th. Nothing to write home about, perhaps it could go into a blog entry though. I sorted the list by ‘Updates’ and I come in at a more impressive 11th.
I decided the check out the competition and viewed the Twitter homepages of some of those that were ranked above me. That’s when I found @MiriamP’s page. I followed the link to Miriam’s blog, Miriam Parkinson, and saw a blog entry titled 101 Goals in 1001 Days - Update. I dug around the site to find the first in that series of articles and found 101 Goals in 1001 Days. That article was my inspiration for this article.
I get the sense that Miriam is more motivated than I am so I haven’t set myself a time limit. I’ll aim to do all of these before I die because, as I understand it, most of them would be pretty hard to do as a corpse.
I’ve borrowed from some of Miriam’s goals too.
